Update from the LSA President— August 20

Pénélope Labbé

Dear McGill Law student community,

The Executive Council of the Law Students' Association (LSA) is closely monitoring the risk of a renewed strike by the Association of McGill Professors of Law (AMPL).

Unfortunately, we have not received any official confirmation from the AMPL or any details from the University administration.

I am currently seeking clarifications from the University administration and AMPL. I expect communications from the administration to follow if a strike is indeed triggered.

If a strike occurs, this does not automatically mean that the entire fall semester is in jeopardy. The first days will be crucial, and there will be a chance to navigate through it.

The LSA confirms that FROSH will take place next week. We invite all of you, first-year and exchange students, to participate—it represents a great opportunity to form friendships despite the potential situation.

One thing is certain: the LSA will center all its actions around the interest and well-being of our student community.
